Retro Rendezvous 2026 is all set but with increased costs. To keep the event free & inclusive for 2027, we're appealing for some extra cash.
Retro Rendezvous Festival is returning on 30th & 31st May 2026, for our 11th year! Once again it promises to be a vibrant celebration of live music, motorbikes, cyclists, classic cars, scooters, vintage market stalls, cycle jumble, and general nostalgia, all with a relaxed, safe, friendly vibe.
It's a totally inclusive festival, and completely free for anyone to enjoy. We have some really great live bands, who are all paid very fairly. We have exhibits of motorbikes, scooters and classic cars. Plus we've got a lovely family festival vibe. All are welcome to join us for the weekend.
This year, due to vastly increased and unexpected road closure charges from Westmorland and Furness Council which are only just becoming apparent, and other general price rises, we are asking for your support to help us maintain the festival as an inclusive and free event for now and future years.
We need to start planning each festival a year in advance, including event insurance, deposits for license applications, website maintenance, etc. Therefore, any surplus from the 2026 festival goes straight into funding the 2027 festival. No surplus this year means no festival next year. As with any business, cash flow is everything.
Sadly, we didn’t have to think very hard to come up with a list of Ulverston community festivals that no longer happen: Ulverston Carnival Day (and Carnival Night), Canal Gala, Brolly Parade, Easter Egg Rolling, Anchor Festival, Comedy Festival, Taste Cumbria, CAMRA Beer Festival, Gin Festival, Another Fine Fest, and Charter Week is now Charter Day. We don’t want to join the list of extinct festivals, and we need your help!
We are hugely grateful for financial support received from The Sun, Oxley Group, Ulverston BID, Ulverston Town Council, and CGP Books, but it's just not enough for a free festival of this size. Please support us if you can by contributing to our Crowdfunder, and help keep the retro magic going. Let’s make 2026 a year to remember, and help us to get planning for 2027 too!
We know roughly how many people enjoy the event each year, and if everyone who enjoys it donated just £1, we’d be completely safe!
PS. We’d really appreciate some volunteers to help out over the festival weekend, with setting up the festival, keeping everyone safe, and taking everything down again. There’s no working at height or anything dangerous! Please contact us via the festival website or facebook page if you can spare a few hours, and we’ll discuss what you could do to help.
