Our club desperately needs funding for two new double sculls to enable our amazing junior squad to be able to row regularly & competitively.
Northampton Rowing Club has over 100 members aged 13 to 70+. We have men’s, women’s, and junior squads, and we offer opportunities for recreational rowing. We host a major Head Race each January, drawing competitors from far and wide. Our Junior squad takes children from Northampton and the surrounding area from the age of 12.
As a Community Amateur Sports Club, we strive to make rowing accessible to all, to do this we need a variety of boats to help get people out on the water. From singles to doubles to quads and eights, we aim to cater for all, but our aging fleet has become a barrier.

Northampton Rowing Club’s junior athletes dream of competing at the highest levels; some even have aspirations to be future Olympians! They are greatly inspired by the fact that a current Olympic gold medallist sat in her first boat at Northampton Rowing Club!
However, our juniors urgently need new boats to reach those heights. Our fleet is heavily outdated, and we desperately need two new double sculling boats to help keep all of our athletes on the water and competing regularly. We also want to be able to offer opportunities to young people in the wider community, who have not yet experienced the many benefits of rowing as a recreational and competitive sport.
Our dedicated parents and volunteer coaches pour their hearts into making every practice session count; we have the coaches, the plan, and the ambition - we just need the equipment!
Despite our limited resources, some of our juniors are now beginning to achieve great successes and are capturing the attention of British Rowing and Team GB.
To keep this momentum and to provide more opportunities for local young people who may believe rowing is inaccessible to them, please help us invest in new boats. Sport England have agreed to support us, and we need to match the payment they will make; your contribution will bring us closer to the goal of £10,800.

Your contributions and the Sport England matched funding will buy two double sculling boats. Double sculls are the most popular boats within our fleet and consequently get the greatest usage. Increasing our capacity of these boats will enable more athletes to get out on the water to train and compete.
We are a Community Amateur Sports Club with close ties to other water-based clubs in the town, as well as local schools. Your contribution will allow us to increase our ability to share the benefits of rowing with others.
Support us, and you’re not just buying boats; you’re fuelling Olympic dreams and empowering the next generation. Your donation will help our club to compete at the highest levels and inspire our entire community.
Come with us on this next chapter for Northampton Rowing Club! Thank you.
