Aim

Every bereaved British Forces child supported by Scotty’s Little Soldiers to receive a personalised medal to honour their military parent.

LET'S GET SCOTTY MEMBERS THEIR MEDALS FOR REMEMBRANCE

2020 was the first time bereaved British Forces children were invited to take part in the Remembrance Parade in London and we witnessed the positive impact this had on our Scotty members when they realised hundreds of thousands of people were taking time out of their day to remember their parent. Now we want to go one step further... can you help us?

ABOUT THE MEDALS

Back in 2019 when Scotty's had 400 members, each young person supported by the charity was sent a personalised medal engraved with their parents name on the back and the Scotty’s logo on the front, helping them feel a connection to the military community which is so familiar to them and remember their parent.  Scotty's now has over 600 members and we are asking for help so we can purchase 250 more.

ABOUT SCOTTY'S LITTLE SOLDIERS

Scotty’s is a charity dedicated to supporting children and  young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.

Inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott, following the death of her husband Corporal Lee Scott in Afghanistan in 2009, the charity, which was set up in 2010, provides support and guidance to hundreds of bereaved military children and young people throughout their childhood.

Scotty’s provides its members with access to bereavement support, outstanding development opportunities and the chance to smile again.

HOW WE SUPPORT BEREAVED MILITARY CHILDREN

Scotty’s currently support over 600 children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Via our four family programmes, Scotty’s members are able to access specialist child bereavement support, guidance for parents and carers to help them support their child, personal education and learning assistance (including grants), and fun activities such as holiday respite breaks and group events. These are all designed to remind the children and young people supported by Scotty’s that they are not alone.
