Hello, we are Camilo & Michela, who run the Post Bar Live Music & Grill, established in November 2018.

Our venture combines our expertise in hospitality, theatre, and music. Housed in a former post office and estate agent on the high road in Tottenham, The Post serves as a community space with a special focus on Live Music but always under the mantra that Everyone is Welcome.

We have been recognised by Arts Council England as grassroots music venue important to North London.

Since we have been open we have curated and hosted over 200 events per year showcasing a wide array of musical genres and Cultural experiences.

The past year presented significant challenges, with over 120 grassroots music venues shutting in the UK alone. We're in solidarity with our peers across the grassroots sector, grappling with escalating energy and supplier costs, burdensome VAT, and soaring rents.

The London hospitality scene, in particular, is feeling the strain from these mounting challenges and the relentless surge in supplier expenses. Despite the challenges and sometimes wondering how we can keep going our commitment to live music is still there we just need some help.

Why are we fundraising?!

Over the past five years, amidst personal challenges and the impact of a global pandemic, The Post has weathered obstacles and evolved. In 2023, facing the cost of living crisis, we acknowledge a shift from our initial community-focused vision. Despite keeping our doors open, we recognise the need for change.

Throughout the pandemic, perhaps wrongly we chose not to pursue any bounce back loans to avoid accruing debt. Instead, we were fortunate to secure funding from the Arts Council, and the #saveourvenues campaign by Music Venue Trust came to our rescue, adding us to the red list and helping us reach our target.

Since our establishment in 2018, our stage has been graced by hundreds of bands and musicians, and we are determined to preserve both the vibrant music scene and our venue's existence in the heart of Tottenham.

Recently, we've revitalised the space, reduced prices, and made most nights free entry before 11 pm. We've hosted family events again, reintroduced food delivery, and adjusted our live music programming due to uncertain ticket returns. We don't want to lose the live music aspect of our venue so we need your help!

We share this with you as, over the past year, we've accrued debts, including increased utility bills and tax obligations. January has shown incredible community support, even during Dry January.

With your help in raising £30K, we aim to clear our debts and restore The Post as a vibrant community hub, hosting free grassroots music events again.

Whats happening now?

In the meantime we are continuing with operations as best we can, recently hosting a half term pancake making event for local families. We have teamed up with Shabba DJs to put on family rave with Funky tunes playing all day alongside activities for the kids like crafting and a bouncy castle (yes we were surprised one fit inside also!).

We are starting Open Deck Wednesdays to give a safe and encouraging environment for DJs to come learn and practice with each other whilst offering a cool Weds night vibe for everyone else!

After 3 long years we will again be opening more regularly in the day times again too, we are very aware that there isn't many options around for locals to sit in and eat lunch maybe do some work, or meet fellow mums & dads with little ones so our Lunch Menu is about to be launched.

We have to keep The Post Bar going but we worry if our fundraiser isn't successful we will forever more be on the back-foot and we won't be able to support the business and close the doors entirely.

Your contribution will enable us to continue our commitment to Tottenham High Road and make The Post a thriving community space once again. Thank you for your support.
