Sanctus Academy A.B.C 

Sanctus Academy is an England Boxing affiliated club based in Brighouse. Our aim is to bring physical activity to the community to help improve lives using the universally recognised sport of boxing. 

Our community hub offers a safe space for people to build their confidence and self-esteem through boxing and fitness, which enables them to become fitter and stronger thus proud of themselves. We use boxing to promote peer-on-peer learning through developing junior leaders who learn new life skills, increase mental stimuli as well as creating champions inside and outside of the competition ring. We recognise the importance of good health therefore, alongside our boxing classes which teach lessons in discipline and self-control, we offer wellness support including anxiety and stress management strategies to ensure psychological fitness is just as nurtured as the physical form.

Every minute counts. Cardiac arrest is sudden and often without warning. Increasing public access to defibrillators rapidly increases the chance of survival. Whilst physical exercise can improve cardiovascular function and is beneficial for heart health, cardiac arrest can occur due to various factors including heart disease and electrical abnormality in the heart.

As a boxing club, we are participating in a Santa Dash throughout November until Christmas to raise funds to buy a defibrillator to be fitted outside of our boxing club, this then ensures it is accessible for the public. 

This will benefit the community as it provides additional aid in the event of a cardiac  emergency, empowering the community through the spirit of boxing.

Online Campaigns: We'll be sharing our progress on a weekly basis now until Christmas on our social media pages.

Event Fundraisers: We will be visible at the Brighouse Christmas Market (25th/26th November) where members of the public can contribute to our miles.
