EXODUS is a gritty post-apocalyptic short film about survival, loss, and how far a young man can be pushed before he loses himself.

I’m Alfie, a 20-year-old independent filmmaker from the UK, creating original short films through my YouTube channel Alfonzo’s Pictures, where I tell dark, emotional, and character-driven stories with limited resources, budget and a lot of heart.
EXODUS is my most ambitious project yet: a gritty post-apocalyptic short film about survival, loss, and how far an ordinary person can be pushed before they lose who they are.
I'm teaming up with my good friend Harry Rodgers who has written the screenplay to create this short film as well as starring in it.
The film follows Chris, a young man who wakes up to a world collapsed by a violent outbreak. As society falls apart around him, he forms an uneasy bond with a hardened survivor named Hal. Together they navigate infected creatures, abandoned landscapes, and the real horror of the story, other humans who have embraced the chaos. When that fragile bond is destroyed, Chris is forced into a brutal transformation, becoming something darker than he ever thought he could be.
This project will also serve as my third-year university final film, meaning its success directly impacts my graduation. Alongside this, the film will be submitted to national and international film festivals, giving it the opportunity to reach wider audiences and helping me take meaningful steps forward in my career as a filmmaker.
This project aims to push my filmmaking skills and storytelling further than ever before, with stronger production design, more ambitious action sequences, practical effects, and a professional-level final result. The funds raised will go directly towards location costs, props, costumes, practical effects, transport, food for cast and crew, and post-production.
EXODUS isn’t just a short film, it’s a step forward in my journey as a filmmaker, and a chance to tell a powerful story about humanity, rage, and what we become when the world ends.
