Aim

We aim to make a film, showcasing the Welsh country and the nature of old world vs new and the abandonment of technology in a rural area.

Hello!

We are a group of Film students at The University of South Wales, needing your help with our grad film!

Our vision is to showcase our (the team's home) country of Wales, while exploring the themes of old world vs new, isolation, Celtic traditions and the abandonment of technology and keying into the phenomenon of the "brain drain."

Following the main characters, similar to ourselves - a small crew of film makers, who have set out on a journey to make a documentary about the home town of one of the crew members, Imogen Parry, a village where her father had left in the same fashion of a lot of younger members of the village, for a better life with higher prospects. 

Upon visiting the village, the whole crew is met by the out-of-touch village leader, Myrddin Bythell. Which is where our intrepid group of filmmakers gets caught in a situation they've never been in before.

Meet the team:

Sam - Director

With a keen eye for detail and composition, Sam has the ability to construct visual/audible stories in the film medium with a cool precision. With the help of Alexander, our D.O.P!

Dexter - Writer

Coming from an interest in English literature, Dexter has an exceptional ability to write in-depth stories with unusual characters that we as people can somehow still see ourselves in.

Alexander - Director of Photography

Alexander has the skills on the camera to tell a story just by looking at a person. A superpower that few have! Coming from a short but extensive background with cameras, Alex is as keen for beautiful composition as Sam is.

Benjamin - Editor/Gaffer

From working on samurai films to ballet films, Benjamin has a wide spread of experience with stories of all shapes and sizes. So we have absolute trust that he will help us light our shoot and edit our film the way we all want the film to be!

Ollie - Producer

With experience producing in the past, Ollie gets all the paperwork in order and keeps the monkeys above doing their jobs. Although, with the help of the entire team, Ollie has found some of the best locations to film for Land of My Fathers!
